About Me

Anatomical
I’m 26, 175cm or 5’10”, Ginger with beard, green eyes, freckley, medium build, a peace sign tattood on my left shoulder and I like to think I’m a snappy dresser. I have all my own teeth and most of my hair.

My story
I was in the army before I realised that it was a nasty business and I might get hurt or worse; have to hurt others. After that I decided to live very differently and have been a lot happier ever since.

I did the personality exam recently and I’m an ESFJ-A, a Pisces and pagan for lack of being convinced by any of the others BUT believing in something more than materialism.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to meet decent folk who are willing to trust others and share stories and ideas.
A free bed on the odd occasion would be great too!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- mixed bag, I like all sorts so long as you can dance to it or it means something!
Crazy train by Black Sabbath
Us & them by Pink Flloyd
Hey boy hey girl by the chemical brothers

Books -
Island by Aldous Huxley wins the prize for utopian fiction as it’s all possible and really helped direct my attention to what’s important in life
Elkhart Tolle power of now is my favourite non fiction although it’s really a self help book. Off the recommendation of Jim Carrey about being present this book really helped me figure things out a little better.

I'm not bit on movies. But the best new-ish one I’ve seen is the Nice Guys with Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not sure if it’s my modesty or that I am just as unremarkable as most people but I visited Vietnam last summer and that had an amazing effect on me.

I have taken cold showers for the last year after learning about the health benefits. But that’s more like 365 questionable endeavours than one amazing thing.

My claim to fame might be that I made it onto the news once. Me and my guys made a ‘Merry Christmas to all you folks back home’ video message when we were based in Estonia last year and it was the lead video for all of the Christmas wishes from the troops who were overseas to be broadcast back home.

Teach, Learn, Share

Share - I’ll bring some nice things to eat and drink from wherever I’ve just been. I’m cool with sharing most thing but things I don’t share include - toothbrushes, prescription medication, Dick pics and secrets.
As a couch surfer I’m happy helping out with that job around the house that you’ve been meaning to do for a while such as - rewashering a tap, changing a car lightbulb or moving something heavy.

Teach - if you want to learn a bit about mechanics, civil engineering, some French or Spanish practice, or know some stuff about the army then I can spin a yarn or two.

Learn - I’d love to know a bit more about video editing, computers and if anybody could teach me about setting up a website that would be really cool.

I have Dixit which is a great card game for getting to know people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good food and drink and I can help with fixing almost anything around the home or in your car. I like talking about all sorts especially alternative medicine, lifestyles and construction as well as philosophy and what we’re all really here for.

I'm good at cooking curry and providing the 'Indian dining experience'.

Andorra, Austria, France, Malaysia, Portugal, Spain, Viet Nam
