About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"Beyond the white clouds, a blue mountain. A traveler goes beyond that mountain." - Zen saying
ABOUT ME
I'm very laid back but keen for spontaneous adventures. Laughing with other people and listening and talking with others. I'm honest and kind and can laugh at myself. Keeping fit and eating healthily is important. A sucker for freshly cut grass and watching the sky. Trees are pretty cool too.
PHILOSOPHY
A fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch surfing is completely new to me. Having been told about it by numerous travelers along the course of my trip, i am now an excited CS novice.
Interests
Laughing with and listening to people. Listening to music. Reading books. Keeping fit - football, running, boxing, tennis, swimming, skiing, badminton and whatever... I'm a more discerning consumer - delving into quality real ale and giving my taste buds a new thrill. Photography. Reading. Pondering and boondoggling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Mae Hong Son bike loop in northern Thailand was awesome - a great way to see real Thailand through small local communities and epic scenery, particularly of the mountains between Thailand and Burma. Coming across a small village known as Ban Rak Thai on the edge of the Burmese border was an amazing experience within this incredible trip - it is a tea plantation village with a dominant Chinese community inhabiting. Quite surreal and a great culture concoction.
Only recently, my friends and I visited a school just outside Phnom Penh, Cambodia - we bought school supplies in advance and helped teach and play games during our stay. The children were inspiring, so motivated and so happy in all aspects of their lives. They were extremely keen to learn and worked really hard, getting up at around half 5 or 6 every morning ready to start the day. During this homestay, we also visited a rice field where our Cambodian host's mother worked. We spent an hour or so planting rice seeds with the local women, knee deep in clay and water. It was truly unbelievable - great to be apart of such an important factor of the local peoples lives.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a short term memory....but love to learn! Sharing experiences is time well spent. I know random information, which is sometimes interesting, sometimes pointless. Know quite a bit about food and exercise.
