About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To inspire people to reach their greater potential (myself included!)
ABOUT ME
I've recently completed a years-long Walk of Inspiration Across America. The Walk began in my hometown of Vancouver, WA, and circuitously covered 19 states en route to New York City.
By walking thousands of miles across America, my aim was to inspire Americans to at least go out and take a walk every day-- as an initial step toward living a healthier lifestyle. My website: www.enjoythewalk.org
Separately, I practice meditation, yoga, and I'm a vegetarian. That said, I'm always happily sharing tables with a great many people of different faiths, different eating habits, and many other different walks of life. So long as the mutual will exists, there's always a way to connect with your fellow being!
I speak Portuguese and Spanish in addition to English.
PHILOSOPHY
Take Steps Forward!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a handful of Surfers before, and I've mostly been on the receiving end. Couchsurfing has proven fantastically helpful to me throughout the course of my long walking across America journey. As all hosts have been so helpful to me, I've been so thrilled about taking my opportunities to "catch up" with hosting others...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've met hundreds of truly fascinating people via Couchsurfing, forming many friendships that will surely last a lifetime!
AS A HOST:
I can often be available to sit and chat about Portland/Life, go to restaurants, give a tour of the area, etc. That said, I can't always be available to do so. If I invite you though, you're nonetheless welcome to stay ;) .
AS A SURFER:
I love getting to know CS hosts. That said, I'm also definitely not the type that needs to constantly be entertained. Especially if any host is busy, I'm perfectly content with catching up on my communications, meditating, and sometimes simply sitting back and resting in silence from the many miles of the road.
I always have more than enough of my own things to do... ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
2009-2014: walking 5,000 miles across 19 states, from my home in Washington State to New York.
I spent a year in Brazil as a foreign exchange student. The year was between 1994/95, just after high school. I lived with two host families, and learned Portuguese quite well. I traveled widely through southern Brazil as my time was coming to an end.
Since 2007, I've spent eight months traveling, volunteering, and learning Spanish in Mexico and Central America.
