ABOUT ME

I'm a 23 year old wanderer from the UK and after working in McDonalds for a couple of years (plus 4!) I decided a radical change was needed in my life. So, since August 2014 its just me, a backpack and an open road with not a fast food resturant in sight!!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

To experience the hospitality and good faith that I believe everyone has. I hope that somehow I can inspire the people that can host me and contribute to their lives.
Then, when I eventually do settle down, I'd like to host people and to give back to the couchsurfing community.

Spellchecking, bad jokes and American sports, huge Seahawks and Mariners fan!

But really I enjoy anything that involves engaging and getting others talking about themselves as people genuinly do interest me. People are an important part of our individual stories and help make them unique and memorable.
After my travels to Israel and Palestine I have become both daunted and fascinated by both cultures, even so that I started to learn Arabic, something which I hope to pick up again in the future.

Going through a bit of a Stephen King phase at the moment. Recent books include; Jack London's White Fang, Under the Dome, Desperation, Wild by Cheryl Strayed and The Divine Comedy - Inferno.

Favourite band is Explosions in the sky (huge FNL fan). Mostly into Indie Folk and Motown, but I enjoy listening to a wide range of music, I go through classical phases quite often. I generally consider myself a bit of a hipster, if it's popular I probably don't like it haha. Recent favoured artists include; A.A. Bondy, Bowerbirds, Dispatch, Timber Timbre.

Like I mentioned, a huge Friday Night Lights fan, movie and TV show. I'd say I enjoy most sports movies but I also enjoy dramas as well as some cult comedy classics.

It's hard to choose between the two but from May - October 2016 I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), a 2,650 mile hike in the USA from the Mexican border into Canada and in May/June 2014 I walked the Camino de Santiago, a 550 mile pilgramige from the South of France in the pyrenees across Spain to Santiago De Compostela in North West Spain.
