ABOUT ME
My name is George Tait and I am an Analytical Chemist. I am currently trying to bike across Europe on my way to Istanbul. I've missed meeting new people during the pandemic and this trip is my remedy.
PHILOSOPHY
Personal philosophy just sounds like an excuse for people to drone on about their own righteous way of living so I'll keep mine short: Live life to the full, have fun and dont do stuff you dont enjoy! Simple
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
CS sounds like a fantastic idea. It brings out the best people, those that are fully willing to help out others and those are the types of people I want meet and its always nice to have a local show you around their usual haunts.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had countless opportunities to get involved in the world of couchsurfing. I've had fantastic experiences hosting in Manchester and met only the best people while surfing in the Netherlands, America and New Zealand.
Interests
Backpacking has shared some of the best experiences of my life. The whole community is such a pleasure to take part in. Really I'm always looking to relive the excitement and getting a surfer is like a miniature adventure
I'm also a big football (soccer) player and an Ultimate Frisbee player, I even got the privilege of playing for the Great Britain under 20's team in Ultimate.
I like to read but that could mean just about anything. I normally try to read 'intellectual' books which half of the time turn out to be an absolute chore to work through (have you ever tried to read a dickens novel? Its torture!) so I often fall into the habit of reading crappy 'times best sellers novels' which I will forever apologize for.
I would love to consider myself as an active person which after the last few months of backpacking I think would be justified and so I'm in for hikes, boat trips, just about anything that gets me out into the fresh air!

Music, Movies, and Books
For the most part I'm a bit of a guy when it comes to films: Action, Comedy and Thriller but who doesnt like Daddy Day Care on a rainy day?
My music taste is pretty broad but who doenst say that? My rock can get as heavy as it wants so long as its still singing and not screaming. Brit pop definitely features on my ipod (the oasis played their fist gig about 30 min from my house)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Motorbiked the length of Vietnam. What more needs to be said. Most amazing experience of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can cook edible food, juggle, uni-cycle, I also played for the Great Britain Ultimate frisbee team so I'm not too bad with a disc in my hand. And chinese chess of course, you will end up getting at least a game or two out of me.
