About Me

I'm currently living in Fernie Canada, and am from Australia. I grew up in Canberra before moving to Sydney to University. I lived in Budapest doing a semester exchange at Eötvös Lorand University.

I have worked for a travel education company as an operations manager in Australia and will be working as a tour leader for the sister company in August 2019 as well.

I have just completed 2.5 months in Central and parts of south America.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing for a few reasons. First I think it is a great and fun way to meet locals and see their perspective on their hometown. Sometimes just from a tourists perspective you can feel as if you are doing what everyone else does.

Also I want to make the most out of my adventure in Europe and saving on accommodation is ideal. That gives me more freedom to enjoy every city and culture I can get to.

Interests

My interests... where to start.

I love travelling, sports, music, food, hanging out with friends, movies (especially ones that leave you a bit confused, or thinking after the film), but I think most of all I love a good adventure. Whether that is trying new food, travelling to a new country, or going for a hike, I'm up for most things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I recently have discovered a lot more music, since being in Europe, but I couldn't tell you what is my favourite. I think the music I like depends on the mood I am in. Movies, as I said before, I love movies with a good twist, and comedies. Also movies about recent history like WW2, the Vietnam war, etc. Books, hmm, right now I am reading Gone Girl, but I don't have a favourite either. I do really like the author Khaled Hosseini, who wrote the Kite Runner, and A thousand Splendid Suns.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently did 2 and a half months in Central America, here where my highlights:

Advanced scuba diving course in Utila, Honduras, hiking Acatanango Volcano in Guatemala and seeing an active volcano go off at our campsite, exploring the jungles of Nicaragua, dancing the night away in Cartagena, Colombia, and to finish we did the Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu in Peru.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, stories, laughs and I'm not a bad cook and happy to serve up a meal for having me.
