I love culture and experiencing new ways of life, I think that it is interesting and fulfilling to see how other people live their day-to-day lives. I am a junior in college, working towards a Bachelor's of Arts in Russian studies and minor in Political Science at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to actually SEE the places I am visiting. I do not like to be a 'tourist' and don't want my traveling to feel as if I am only on vacation. I want to travel and experience my travels. I love little local spots, hikes, camping spots, restuarants/bars/cafes that are unique and reflect the place and the people who live there.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes vary, I will listen to anything that has meaningful lyrics and good harmonies. However, I am not a big fan of pop or new country. As for books, I really have read so many I couldn't choose a favorite. My favorite genres are crime novels, or fictional novels with a base in history. Right now I think my favorite book is Half the Sky by Sheryl WuDunn and Nicholas Kristof.
