ABOUT ME

Just got back from a year abroad; already thinking about what comes next! For now though, I'm a writing student and optimist, and I live in beautiful Melbourne.

PHILOSOPHY

This is actually something Jerry Seinfeld said, embarrassingly enough! But I really agree with it:

1. Bust your ass (i.e. give everything your 100%)
2. Pay attention (i.e. make sure you're always taking note of what's around you, what's going on)
3. Fall in love (not just romantically; fall in love with everything you do. If you have a good cup of coffee, don't just shrug it off as a cup of coffee. Fall in love with your coffee!)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hoping to be able to host soon, but just moved into a new place, so I'll have to get settled in first!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed around Europe last year and had a great time! I've babysat French children, danced with Dutch frat boys, stayed in a shipping container and a child's cubbyhouse, and discussed everything from rocket science to memories of the fall of the Berlin wall until the sun comes up! In most of my experiences so far my hosts have been too busy to spend a lot of time together, but we've had at least one drink together, and that suits me just fine - time to get to know each other, but also time to do my own thing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking through the parks of Melbourne at 2am; lying on my back at the top of the War Memorial and seeing the skyline hanging upside-down into the night sky.

Teach, Learn, Share

English is my mother-tongue and I love it dearly, so would happily teach people about that, from basic lessons right up to creative writing practice. Also know about film-making, photography, cooking.
