ABOUT ME

I love anything that is soft and fluffy, I find it very hard to walk in a straight line and I'm a terrible decision maker. I also could never be an actor because I smile a lot, keeping a straight face is as hard as walking in a straight line, for me anyway. When I'm not traveling I work in hospitality (because i actually like the industry). I've just finished up working at The Greenhouse Perth by Joost Bakker (look him up), to go on this exploration/idea finding trip, through the Americas, with my partner and best friend, Sam. The long term plan is for us to eventually open a venue of our own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Having never Couchsurfed before the trip we're on now, we have since surfed in Seattle, Portland, Oakland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, Savannah, Washington DC, New Jersey, New York and Cartagena (Colombia). It has been such an enriching experience, I never want to stay in a hostel again. These people are beautiful I can't wait to get back home and start hosting.

Intereses

All things food and drink - cooking, tasting, learning and most important of all exploring.
Sustainability and organics has been a big focus for me over the past 6 months, the movement towards farm to fork, city farms and urban agriculture is brilliant, I enjoy the challenge of it all.
I also have a particular fascination for wine at the moment, not so much in an alcoholic way, but I just want to know so much more, especially when it come to natural wines.
How can you go past a good chat too? everyone has such a different take on life for whatever reason it might be. Hearing those stories, I believe, is one of the most rewarding parts of traveling.
The great outdoors is the best, the beach, hikes, rafting, bike rides, i dig it all.
I am also an animal lover. Fur babies of all kinds, I want them all.

Música, películas y libros

Quentin Tarantino does a good movie, I'll also watch anything with Jonny Depp in it or made by Pixar. I'm not fussy, although I don't cope well with horror and gore. Documentaries usually grab my attention too.

Spotify was the best thing invented, I avoid really commercial pop music and I don't understand hardcore. Aside from that, anything goes.

There's nothing better than a good book. I can now read on busses without vomiting and I tend to enjoy non-fiction more. Hunter S Thompson and Jack Kerouac are brilliant. I'm currently reading Shake Hands with the Devil, it's about the failure of humanity and the UN during the Rwandan genocide. It's intense, but important to understand.

Diving off the coast of Utila, Honduras. Climbing the Ankor Wat of Cambodia. Hitchhiking in the US. Surviving a day in Delhi. Making it to the stop of Adam's Peak in Sri Lanka and so much more!
