I'm Georgie, a total cough surfing virgin! I'm currently on a year abroad and at the moment I am travelling around Asia, then Australia and New Zealand.

I left my job in TV Production to explore the world a little more, and so far I'm having a ball!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Loads of cool backpackers I have met travelling have all done couch surfing and told me I should really try it out as it's such a fantastic way to meet new, interesting people. And it gives you a more personal experience of different places you're visiting. So I thought, yes, this sounds like it could be a lot of fun!

Interests

I studied all areas of media, so I'm really into videography, photography, television and post production like Adobe Creative Suite.

Of course, also a big interest of mine is travelling. I have spent three months of the year in America, and I'm into my third month of South East Asia, I then head to Australia and New Zealand later this year! I have also, this year, gotten really into scuba diving. That's something I enjoy doing whilst travelling around all these new and exciting countries.

Music, Movies, and Books

It's hard to say a favourite film, but a couple which come up high in my rankings are; The Boat that Rocked, Eat Pray Love, Snatch, Bridget Jones Diary. I love Quentin Taratino films, but also indulge in a good Rom Com. I'm a big lover of television series too, the biggest fan of Game of Thrones!

And I am a huge fan of reading, just finished 'Wild', 'The Alchemist' and 'The Beach', basically travel novels are my thing as of late.

Also love all different kinds of music, massively into Motown but I also enjoy modern stuff too. At the moment I am loving 'Milky Chance' and 'Alabama Shakes'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the last six months after never scuba diving in my life, I have managed to get my Advanced Open water completed, that may sound like nothing to some people. But being able to go 30m under water I find pretty amazing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to socialise and talk, so I hope I can provide great stories. I also love to learn about other people, and their lives and different cultures. I am a HUGE foodie, so learning about different cuisines and getting to cook would be fabulous!
