About Me
I'm 21 and I'm currently studying German at the University of Bristol.
I've just spent 14 months living in Germany (Düsseldorf and Hamburg), which is where I learned about couchsurfing. Only 2 semesters left of university and then I'm free as a bird - I'm looking forward to moving back to Germany and starting a life there :)
I talk a lot, but I love to hear what other people have to say. I love overnight journeys, foreign-language films, old lady perfumes. I love winter and I get stressed out when it's too hot.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couch surfing has been recommended to me so many times by friends, acquaintances, and random people I've met on my travels.
I like the great outdoors, but in moderation - I'm much more of a citybreak person. I love to get to know the streets, the public transport, the museums, the cafes - and the nightlife. But evenings can be lonely when you're in a new city by yourself. With courchsurfing, you're pretty much guaranteed to get to know new people and to spend the evenings with them - whether it's in a bar, in a club, or just at home. Sounds perfect!
Interests
I love pub quizzes, general knowledge quizzes, finding out fun facts, learning languages. I have a laundry list of languages I'd love to learn once I've graduated, though I doubt my brain could hold them all.
I write for my student newspaper (Style, Living, and occasionally Travel) as well as for the website of a friend/classmate of mine.
I'm a night owl! I also get very competitive when I play casual sports, but I'm not particularly good. I like basketball and volleyball and waterpolo :)

Music, Movies, and Books
A few of my favourite bands are Guns N Roses, The Killers, Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Living in Bristol and Hamburg has got me in to house and techno respectively :)
Most of my favourite films are foreign language, or British comedies: Das Leben der Anderen, La Vita e Bella, Death at a Funeral and In the Loop never get old.
The Devotion of Suspect X, Animal Farm, The Phantom Tollbooth. Currently reading True Grit by Charles Portis. I also love a good non-fiction book!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
(It's hardly Motorcycle Diaries, but) I rode half way across north Germany on the back of a moped.
Actually, moving to Germany. It changed me in so many good ways, I learned to be more open-minded, spontaneous, independent and relaxed.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn other languages, so I'll be happy to hear some words and phrases in whatever language(s) you speak! I'm keen to share nights out - whether it means dancing til the lights come on, or beers in the local pub, or something totally different, I'm down.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, beer, English slang, events and stories. Always happy to help around the house, of course.
