About Me

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Budapest, Hungary but I've been living in Canada for more than 20 years now. I've lived in , Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. I like all of them for different reasons. Before coming to Canada, I spent half a year in Israel and half a year in the U.S. Liked them both. Also lived and worked in Ecuador for 4 months.

As a guest: I'm pretty neat . I even enjoy washing the dishes (I'm not kidding). I'm not a great cook but I can make some fairly easy but pretty good Hungarian dishes.
I don't listen to loud music and I'm a quiet person in general.
I'm not looking for a "free couch", I'm really interested in meeting people and spend some time together (if it's possible for my host).
This time I'm travelling with my 14-year old son, Benjamin. He's a fun loving boy, who is pretty easygoing, very much open to the world, surprisingly attentive and sincerely respectful.

PHILOSOPHY
"A still mind is a gift to others."
I've been a Zen practitioner for more than 10 years now working my way toward a still mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At this point I can be only surfing as I share an apartment with a friend who is a very private person.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although I'm a member since 2014 I haven't traveled a lot, actually, I did couch surfing only once.
I did, though, couch surfing a while back when it wasn't even a word. There was (actually, still is) an organization called Servas with pretty much the same way of functioning. I keep the memories of meeting nice and interesting people in Canada and the U.S.
In my everyday life I meet pretty much the same people and even if I meet someone new, he or she is still from "my circles". What I like most about couch surfing is that I have the chance to expand my limits by getting to know people otherwise I wouldn't get in touch with.

Interests

I read a lot about psychology, nowadays especially positive psychology and personal development. Right now my focus of interest is on productivity and habit coaching. I'm in the process of setting up my coaching practice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Arriving in Toronto - as a new immigrant - alone with two sports bags without knowing anything or anybody in the whole of Canada. That was ecstatic...!
(and the Northern Lights from an airplane was really something, too)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can explain why your New Year's resolutions have just a close to zero chance to be fulfilled (or any other resolutions, for that matter) and why it's not your fault. I can teach you easily implementable productivity methods.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I'd like to share with hosts is a good time, whatever that means: having long chats, cooking together, having a drink in a bar, listening to music or finding some common interests...

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Chile, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Slovakia, Switzerland, United States
