About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn new languages and meet people around the world when traveling

ABOUT ME

I'm a history teacher, married with a man that I love with all my heart and soul. We share many things together and we both love to travel around the world. I love learning about other cultures and I really enjoy meeting people from the places we visit. I also enjoy learning new languages, though these days I don't have enough time to study as I work full time in a school from 6am to 6pm!!

PHILOSOPHY

Used to be a workaholic... trying to change this now 'cause I've realised life is only one and you cannot spend the days living for others (the employer!) and not loving yourself. Only when you are happy, the others around you can be happy too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new on this, but hoping to meet a lot of people when travelling around, and expecting to be able to host many others while I'm in town. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a girl from Costa Rica during November 2011. It was my first experience! It's been really nice, though I wasn't able to give all my attention to our guest as she was at home during week-working day.Anyway, I'm looking forward to receiving people at my place for the weekends (so we can spend time together) and to be accepted as a guest with my husband in our trips around the world.

Interests

Reading, mostly history and politics. Watching films (particularly independent movies with simple stories to tell). Walking.
Singing jazz standars :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I fall in love everytime I watch "Before Sunset" and "Before Sunrise", the greatest love stories... so simple, so real. I like different types of music, from rock & pop to classical music, with a specific love for swing and jazz. Particularly interested in the traditional music of different countries around the world. And if it is jazz, even better!! I am in fact an amateur jazz singer ;)
One of my favourite literature books is "Rayuela" (hopscotch) from Argentine writer, Julio Cortázar. Of course, love reading history books, particularly those on modern world history, though also a fan of medieval history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

India's majestic monuments, from the Taj Mahal in Agra to the Rajhastan's palaces and fortresses and the Ellora and Ajanta Caves. Beautiful country, amazing and rich history, incredible culture, kind people.
Travelling to Iran.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about my country and its history, as well as share my experiences around the world. I'd love to keep on learning about the different cultures of the places I visit.
