About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To encourage people to realise how important other people are. I am inspired by the people I meet and I pass on that goodness through couchsurf hosting, meaningful connections and having a good time... who knows the domino effect that may take place... the kindness of strangers is very powerful. So let’s encourage radical self expression, inclusion and just basically, just trying not to be a knobhead.

ABOUT ME

I'm a little weird (but concious of the fact), I have a quirky personality and a home and a bunch of friends to match... I have no sense of dress. I love meeting new people. I can be a little deep-and-meaningful sometimes if you ask the right questions. I have changed big careers and somewhat still unsettled. Born in London and lived my whole life out of a bag, I'm now half settled in Liverpool. Although I still love going back to London every now and then. I love with my parter in a beautiful green part of the city where we live a mixture of chill seasonal vibes.

PHILOSOPHY

I have many experiences that have personally affected me, I try and share those with others to spread the wise-ness (is that a word?). But they aren't all doom and gloom stories! Ha! Pass kindness on.... Finally, say yes more, life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travel as often as I can, I know Europe fairly well, spending several weeks in Greece as one of my many ventures and living in Germany for 3 years as another. I know London pretty well and I'm in different situations all the time, so get in touch I could be anywhere. I always see what the CS community is like before I travel to a new place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have done it in a couple places through couchsurfing.org... I do it often, in the UK and abroad with people I know and through friends of friends. I consider myself very blessed for the friends I have abroad. I find mostly that mutual respect works the best, treat their house as if it were yours and call their grandma "grandma" too. I have friends through couchsurfing I am now lucky enough to have met up with elsewhere and really develop our friendships.

Interests

Anything and everything, extreme is usually my game, whether it's wake boarding or kite-surfing, canoeing or kayaking. If I've never done it I'm still willing to try. I love going to events, little DJ nights, big DJ nights and concerts. I love to get pushed out if my comfort zone and test my limits. I also like doing the weird and wonderful. Festivals - I've been to too many to name: Secret Garden Party, Wilderness, Sound City, Burning Man (I know I know, not a festival), Sound City & Boom Town.
I have been to Burning Man the past 7 years in a row which has entirely shaped my life, my life's ethos and my relationships with family and friends.

But I am just as easy with some munch and a good film on the sofa.

Music, Movies, and Books

I only go to the movies when others want to go, but I genrally enjoy action films and good comedies. Dude, about the new Joaquin Phoenix Joker tho! Fight club duh! Into the Wild and The Beach for portraying traveller spirit.
Music...Anything and everything, as long as it fits the scene and mood....if you can dance, hum, sing or even whistle to it..I'm there. Actually music is a complex one so let's talk more about that.
I'm currently reading so many books haha, the new Miriam Margolyes biography, a facts book on animals, which I love!, Radical Ritual, Entangled Life, Overland and my absolute favourite- Islands of Abandonment by Cal Flyn. Also on my shelf is the Backpacker by Jon Harris and of course the backpacker favourite - Mr Nice. And any documentary by David Attenborough he's my absolute hero!
Miriam Margoleys biography too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I Climbed Mount Olympus - Twice in a fortnight, once of which was from sea level with 20kg on my back each time... I have loads of experiences' alike, but too many to type about...get in touch.
I rock climbed up sugar loaf mountain in Rio new year (2012)
I just did a huge part of the South West Costal Path and a bunch of the Wainwrights here in the UK.

Not to brag but I've saved lives and I'm not even in the medical profession.

Teach, Learn, Share

I always say, all you need is your passport and credit card... A problem for future you to worry about.

I am a jack of all trades, master of none. Knowing a little bit about a lot and knowing a lot about very little.

Finally, in the words of the Beatles, “All you need is love” - spread love ❤️

What I Can Share with Hosts

Staying with you? - I'm a very conscious and self aware person. I understand that I will be staying in somebody's actual home... dude for free, do you know what that even means?!? I have travel stories, conversation and I hold many skills. Don't worry, I understand it's all about community and not just about having a bed for the night.

Staying with me? - My absolute number one priority is to ensure that the good of Couchsurfing can continue, so I can provide a free, chilled, safe and clean environment for my fellow travelling brothers and sisters. Then I can concentrate on the extras if I'm available and show you around the city, drink, eat and be merry together. I might not be able to show you around the town because of work or other commitments but I can give you a map if you're happy to explore alone or with someone else?

Above all, I want you to arrive as if we are old friends and leave the same. I have never had a bad hosting experience because I ensure that you a more comfortable than myself.
