我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Because I've had 3 great experiences couchsurfing in the South of France whilst travelling with my Brazilian friend on my year studying abroad. I loved meeting new interesting people who were so generous at showing us around the area - it's always great to get a local person's perspective of a city. What a cliche, eh! It's also sometimes easy to believe the world is full with bad people but I'm a firm believer that the good far outweigh the bad and it's always nice to restore ones faith in humanity :)

Music, reading and writing, deep chats with friends and family which stretch into the wee hours, having a laugh over a glass of wine, cooking, watching rugby, country walks with my family, board games, going to the beach and attempting to surf, going out to pubs / gigs / clubs in London, discovering new parks / galleries / museums / restaurants.

I am always interested in learning more about cultures past (I studied history at university) and present.

Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell, The National, The 1975, Drake, Wolf Alice, Lorde, Taylor Swift, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, The Strokes, Fleetwood Mac, The Smiths, Radiohead, Tame Impala, Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar, Laura Marling, Frank Ocean, Caribou and the xx for example, but always keen to discover new artists and have started listening to more electronic / old skool stuff lately.

Movies - Romeo + Juliet, Pulp Fiction, Four Weddings and a Funeral, the occasional arty French one.

Books - Ian McEwan, Sebastian Faulks, George Orwell, Jodi Picoult, Sartre, Dickens!

Along with 2 friends I hitch-hiked all the way from the UK to Morocco in 2014 and Croatia in 2013 - raising money for charity as we went. It was an incredible experience, I met some really interesting people, had some of the best conversations I've ever had and it allowed discover many European countries for the first time.

Hopefully a good story or two, that "British sense of humour" supposedly and I also love cooking so would be more than happy to pull together a good meal for us.
