About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Peace- within and without.

ABOUT ME

I'm a friendly person, interested in the world and people. I like languages, reading, dancing to myself, and looking at the moon. I am loving living in Ghana.

PHILOSOPHY

Love + think + try

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted several couchsurfers through flatmates and my boyfriend and friends have met some great people through the CS website. We've learned recipes, swearwords, new music and things to read from our guests and always had a great time. I don't know why I didn't sign up sooner, it must be because there were always people staying anyway!

Interests

I love cooking and reading and films, quiet nights in with some wine and a cushion but I also love to see new sights and hear new sounds and meet new people. Life is a big place, and I'm finding out where it's going to take me, and trying to let go of having a plan.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm always open to try new things in all these categories. If I had to narrow it down I'd say music with bass and soul, films that are beautiful, and books that make me smile inside. But that's pretty vague so my favourite band are The Cat Empire, my favourite film is Withnail and I, and my favourite book is Jane Eyre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most exciting and amazing thing I've done is still going down a death slide when I was 5. As I told my parents at the bottom, it changed my life. You'd have thought I'd be a thrill-seeker now but think that sated me. Ha.

Teach, Learn, Share

CS university! What a great idea. Well, I'd love to debate about world politics, civilisation and the way the future's going to work. I have some quite strong ideas about things but I'll never tell someone they're wrong- different opinions are the fuel for good discussion!
I can share my skills of English very happily and easily: I'm a qualified TESOL teacher and am very happy to talk about my language if you're up for learning. I'd also love to learn any languages you speak.
I tie-dye with some proficiency...! so if you're staying in warmer dryer months we can do some of that :)
I can build quite a good fire...and I cook very well and am always willing to swap recipes and food ideas!

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I said above I'm a qualified English teacher so I love chatting and correcting and giving funny stories about why words and grammar are the way they are. I'll also happily read over and correct essays etc, I've done that a lot for friends and acquaintances whether their first language is English or not! I'm also a very enthusiastic chef and I love trying to figure out what food I can cook from the ingredients around me. So if you've agreed to host me don't get anything in, we can have an adventure making something new and if it fails I'll pop out for fried rice!
