ABOUT ME

I live on the wild island state of Tasmania, Australia, having emigrated here from Britain 20 years ago, and have a small dog ( Jack Russell x Fox Terrier X Princess!!) for whom I am a below stairs maid, and know my place, trust me.
I popped through the wormhole into Animal World when George dropped into my life 13 years ago, and I have learned SO much from- and whomever says that animals are dumb haven't met George who is truly operatic in her attempts to get her dumb human to "JUST DO IT!!"
Best thing that ever happened to me, and so much fun, doggies RULE!
I am self employed, making products with our island's unique Leatherwood honey and hence cannot travel as much as I would like but am breaking out as I hit middle age and hope to rediscover FUN- and I mean FUN!I have been told that I resemble Dawn French in both personality and appearance( read obviously gorgeous!!??? LOL.. dunno, might be another label but a nice comparison as she is a great woman)
Described as "larger than life" ( this is by people who clearly have the personality of a lentil) I have an extremely well developed sense of humour, love words, am a great cook if I say so myself ( mostly curries/asian) read voraciously, am eternally curious about everyone and EVERYTHING on the planet- from cephalopods to psychology, and make silver jewellery in my spare time ( I'm from the Wilma Flintstone meets Edith Sitwell school of big rocks and bling, baby!)
Love music BIG TIME..blues, cajun Zydeco,jazz you name it...and dance like a demon- love it.
What more can I say...I'm an individual just as you are.

Have just completed a huge Road Trip across the USA the Blues Highway and everything in between in Louisiana.
Had some wonderful couch surf experiences along the way, an amazing experience..

incredible women who shared their lives for a few day to a week, all SO generous it is amazing.
I cannot believe how couchsurfing can change travelling alone into a whole new ballgame.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Emigrating on my own to Australia,seeing others grow and learn.
Surviving having a small business.
30 years ago...hearing the perfect tenor voice coming from a bar in Venice through the mist..gloriously drunk and singing his heart out for himself alone...it was beautiful, heartwrenching and a perfect crystalline moment.
