About Me

Current Mission

To explore Southeast Asia!

I find this particular question a time pretty difficult to answer. Why? Because I could write a non-fiction book about my life thus far. But I guess I'll keep it very simple and hopefully down to one paragraph. I guess where do I start? About me. I'm from the States. I graduated with a Business Management degree as well as a certificate in Culinary Arts. I work for a corporation for one year and realized it wasn't for me. Quit my job and went to culinary school. For the past few years, I work my butt off in many different kitchens and under some talented chefs while living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This past August 2015, my good friend and roommate finally seal the deal with his long girlfriend of 11 years. I'm happy for him and his newly wedded wife. But that left me at a point " where do I go from here" kind of feeling. So I decided to quit my job, moved back home to Wisconsin, and TRAVEL. Here I am, traveling Southeast Asia.

I'm very lay back and easy-going kind of person. Open-minded and willing to try new things. I'm always seeking for new knowledge. Just live life to the fullest. Kind of cliche a bit, but I truly believe it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always heard of couch-surfing from friends and people I worked with. Never would I thought I will be on here. Not until recently a friend of mine just got back form his 2 1/2 months travel in Vietnam. Listening to his stories and how couch-surfing is a great way to meet friends and explore what the locals did, I was enthused. I want to experience what he went through while using couchsurf for his travels. Now, I'm on here!

Interests

I really enjoy the outdoors. Things such as fishing, hiking, canoeing, swimming, camping, etc. I'm a pretty active person during my free time. I like to go for a run, take long walks along the rivers/lakes, biking around town, play volleyball and basketball, and sometime football. I also like cooking with family and friends. And once in a while try to enjoy a good book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are many amazing things I've done so far in life, but if I have to gave one example, it'll have to be my first semester during my junior year in college 2006. That's when I made the decision to study abroad in China for 6 months. By taking that first step into traveling and discovering new adventures, I have become a vagabond. After that I been to Amsterdam, Tanzania & Zanzibar, Japan, and Thailand. Now, I'm backpacking through Southeast Asia.
