Overview
About Me
I'm a recent geology graduate from the UK, travelling the world while I try and figure out a longer-term plan. I've found that travelling alone isn't enough to give your life meaning - you have to give the meaning to your travels. For this reason I like to start my travels with a goal in mind, whether it's to improve on a skill, earn money or achieve something. For now, it's mountain biking and learning Japanese.
I'm open-minded and I get along with anything in life that doesn't restrict the freedom of someone/thing else. I seek out meaningful connection with people, which means looking for hosts with meaning in their own lives - something to share in discussion.
I'm into outdoor sports, especially rock climbing and skiing, exploration and adventure, culture, history and nature.
I'm a vegetarian/struggling vegan, so meeting fellow grazers is cool, especially in places where it's hard to find any decent grazing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
'Life is a book, and those who don't travel read only one page'.
Meeting new people is one of my favourite parts of travelling, doubly so for couchsurfers who are usually awesome people. I like to see the non-touristy aspects of a place, and I have a tendency to tag along to classes/meetups if I can.
I don't have a fixed abode for the foreseeable future, but I'm looking forward to one day welcoming other travellers to my place.
Music, Movies, and Books
With music I'm into anything with great lyrics or interesting/innovative melody. Favourites are Frank Turner and Florence + the Machine.
I like escaping from reality and comedy with films, so stuff like: Scott Pilgrim, Studio Ghibli, Star Wars (IV, V, VI, VII), Pitch Perfect, LotR, older Tarantinos.
I like any reads that are inspiring, insightful or adventurous, e.g.: Atlas Shrugged, His Dark Materials Trilogy, LotR, The Aeneid.
I'm also pretty into gaming, on the rare occasions I have time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've never read Fifty Shades of Grey.
Teach, Learn, Share
Science graduate, so pretty interested in the natural world and knowledgeable about the physical sciences. Not a bad vegan/vegetarian cook.
Eager to learn pretty much any skill, particularly extreme sports/martial arts or languages.
I love to talk about philosophy, or make adventurous life plans.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Have you met Jesus?

Anything I can within reason I guess.
