About Me

Easy going and relaxed, i'm a quiet, positive and open-minded person. I like experiencing new things and share thoughts, music, interests...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe you don't really discover a country unless you've met it's citizens. And travelling as a tourist (in hostels and campings), you usually only meet other tourists. It's a pity. When I travel, I like to meet locals, and confront our ways, exchange our interests, music, ideas. It gives a much more satisfaction to meet people rather than to see places.
Also, as a host, i love to be able to help out, provide a place and nice break to people, from closeby or travelling from far away.

Interests

Culture, nature, contemporary dance (ex-member of an amateur dance company), reading (although i don't take the time to do it as much as i'd like), ecology (transition, permaculture, organic, responsible living...), art, music, movies, gardening, crafting and board games

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: things from Tim Burton or Miyazaki, or like Pan's labyrinth, or The broken circle breakdown, or LOTR, in bruges, noone knows about persian cats, amelie poulain, into the wild, the fifth element, sucker punch, the imaginarium of dr parnassus, scott pilgrim, and many many more!
Music: i'm very eclectic, but i like folky stuff, beautiful voices, classic guitar... my current loves are alt j, ben howard, vampire weekend, jose gonzalez, xavier rudd, cat empire, camille, eddie vedder...
Books: too many to list ^^ but i did read LOTR 3 times ^^ i also read a lot about personal development and spirituality...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling around Australia alone, making hundreds - thousands - of new experiences, meeting so many amazing people from around the world, pushing my limits a little further every day, and coming back so much stronger and bigger than before.
It was so amazing that i followed up with another big big adventure, in New Zealand, where i discovered and did some cycle touring, followed a permaculture design course, did some multi-day hikes on my own...

Teach, Learn, Share

I looove music, and always have some with me. But i don't play it although i'd love to. I tried guitar. Maybe I'll try again. For the rest I like sewing, drawing, dancing.
I'm on a quest to learn as much as i can about gardening and growing vegetables, edible wild plants and medicinal plants.
I'm also hoping to grow further, learn more and more about life, love, and myself.
For me, travelling and meeting people are the best tools to grow. :-)
