About Me

Hi - Hola - Oi - Hallo - Ciao!

My name is Geraldine — pronounced differently in every single language. I am a 29 year-old Argentinian woman living in Australia with a Working Holiday Visa 🇦🇷. Long story short: just a small town girl who hasn’t found her “perfect” place in the world yet but who’s eager and adventurous enough to keep traveling in order to find it. 🌪️

I am an English-Spanish translator and also an English teacher.

When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy being outdoors, spending time with my family and friends, going for walks, traveling, visiting places I have never been to, watching movies and reading good books. AND, in my opinion, there´s nothing better than good conversations –with mate of course.
I have been practicing different sports since I was 3 years old. I’m currently practicing indoor and outdoor climbing. I consider myself an advocate for human rights, women´s rights, animals rights as well as for the environment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe in the kindness of strangers. I’ve been able to visit different cities across the world thanks to the generosity and selflessness of people I’ve met on the road, especially through Couchsurfing.

I moved all the way to Australia in March 2023 🇦🇺🦘✈️ . Traveling to this part of the planet had been on my mind for a couple years and I’m finally making it happen! Though I’m already loving this one-in-a-lifetime experience, I cannot stress this enough: I fcking love my country and my people.

I’m sure this time won’t be an exception and that I’ll be able to keep on relying on this amazing community.

I started traveling abroad in 2018 and unfortunately the Pandemic just happened to all of us. In 2018 and 2019 I got the chance to work as a summer camp counselor in the US, and in 2019 as an Au Pair in Italy. No matter how long it’s been since then: I'm still assimilating the fact that I got to visit places I had once read and studied about and had only seen in pictures or on TV.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love pop music as well as 80s hits. Don’t know why, but I find learning lyrics in English way easier than learning Spanish songs. El sazón latino is in my blood so of course I also like reggaeton and I enjoy dancing a lot.

My favourite book is Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if not for J. K. Rowling’s series. The first book I ever read was a children’s version of The Odyssey when I was probably 8 or 9 years old. Reading has had a huge impact on the way I perceive the world.

I really enjoy watching movies and TV series. I grew up watching Disney movies with my family. I prefer drammas, love stories as well as History and Victorian Era movies. My all time fav movies: Shrek, Mulan, Hercules, Atonement, Insterstellar and The Lord of The Rings 3. What can I say? 😁

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

✨Leaving my comfort zone to start traveling the world.
✨Becoming a feminist.
✨Starting my path towards spiritual enlightenment.
✨Obtaining a 5-year Bachelor´s Degree from an Argentinian public, free university.
✨Seeing Coldplay live.
✨Learning how to cook without setting fire to the kitchen.
