I grew up in the Philippines and immigrated to Canada 5 years ago. I studied Accounting and Psychology in UBC where I just finished my undergraduate degree. I'm currently learning French, going on cycling tours, and traveling to places I've never been to before starting full time work in September 2017! I love sports, outdoors, craft beer, and always trying new experiences!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just graduated from UBC and I'm celebrating my undergraduate with a solo cycling trip across Quebec, Ontario and The Pacific West Coast going to Mexico. I'm interested in meeting new people along the journey and I believe Couch Surfing is a perfect platform for this type of experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was learning French in Quebec, I accidentally walked into an advanced French class with no vocabulary and no prior exposure to the language before. The professor asked me questions since I arrived late such as "how are you doing, and what is your name". At that moment, I was staring at the professor and the whole class of about 25 students was waiting for me to answer. I looked at everyone and summoned one word I could think of. I said "oui" with the doubtful tone and the biggest smile of my face thinking how dumb everyone thought I was. Then, everyone starting bursting into laughter, myself included and will always remember that moment!
