ABOUT ME

Probably the people who have known me quite well remember above all these things: my love for the sea and my attachment to the Strait of Messina and all that is related to it.
Don't worry, I don't mean that I talk only of this! Is that these are my major passions and this probably appears clear in what I say. However, with the same interest, I'd really like to know what impassions you!!!

PHILOSOPHY

"Existential suffering is not the fault of the world, nor of fate or a deity, neither happens by chance. Originates within us from the pursuit of happiness in that which is transitory, driven by desire for what is not satisfactory (Second Noble Truth of the Buddhist doctrine)."
In other words, don't pretend to obtain always the best by situations, but try (sometimes at least! :) to get joy also just by little things which you encounter on your way.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately at this moment I can't be very useful because I haven't possibility to host or carry around by car any surfers, but I'd be glad to meet who of you thinks to pass by here and to show to her/him "the most beatiful kilometer of Italy" (that is, the seafront of my town! ... When you'll see it, you'll understand what I'm saying! ;)

I'm starting now this new experience with a lot of curiosity, I'm looking forward to it!

Interests

As I've said, I'd to become a marine biologist, so my major activities (studies, work, volunteering) are related to the sea. However, I'm very interested too in all which has to do with the possibility of a life in agreement with the respect of the nature, so I try to reduce my "ecological footprint" on our planet as best I can through the selfproduction of some products (mind you, only a few small things!) and a vegetarian - almost vegan - diet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Sometimes it's difficult to me naming something as my favourite, but it's also true that there are things which spontaneously return in my mind as soon as I think about what likes to me. For example, in the case of the movies it happens with "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind", as for the books with "One hundred years of solitude".
As regards music, more than a single artist or group, I can indicate my favourite genders: rock, ska, folk, jazz and italian songwriters.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A thing that I've seen several times by now, but never becomes a habit: a lot of sea turtle hatchlings coming out from their nests on the beaches of my homeland!!!
However, now that I think about it, also the nights of full moon at sea that these experiences have gifted to me have been rather amazing :)

Teach, Learn, Share

More than teaching, I think that I could share with you those that I indicated like my passions (anyway, if you was interested, I'd be very glad to teach you the scientific name of some sea creatures or how prepare by yourself tofu and seitan at home!). In the same way, I'm sure that I'd have a lot of things to learn by all of you regards the place where you live and your interests!
