About Me

Hello! I am Amín. I was born in Mexico City and grew up in the north of Mexico, in Monterrey. For me traveling is about making friends and living experiences that will influence the rest of my life. One of my closest friends are from other countries and I think that has enriched my way of seeing life in a very positive way. And I would love to continue to have international experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to travel cheap and 'real'. I think coachsurfing is a nice way to knowing the people of the place you are traveling, make some new friends and save a few bucks!

Interests

I am a jazz pianist so my major interest in life is music. But not only jazz! I also love cinema and literature, I also enjoy knowing politics and society of the places I travel to.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Savage Detectives- Roberto Bolaño, On the road- Jack Kerouac, Tropic of Cancer- Henry Miller, A Moveable Feast- Hemingway.

Movies: La Haine, Un prophet, La graine et le mullet, Comment je me suis disputé ( ma vie sexuelle), Lush Life

Music: I love Bud Powell and Charlie Parker and all that followed. I also love political hip hop, punk, grunge, metal and basically anything that transmits a emotional rhythm to listeners.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I was in Paris with one of my best friends. We got out of this boring party and, dissapointed with our night, we decided to catch the train back home. But then, just in the wagon that stopped in front of us there was a crazy train party. We hopped in and had a great night. We played music with complete unkown people and had lots of fun. A couple of hours later, we were playing soccer at late hours with cool people underneath the aerial paris metro. Good times.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach languages and have some experience on it. I speak fluent french, english and spanish.

I can also teach music theory, piano and guitar. Piano and jazz are my strong point but I can teach other general stuff for begginers/medium musicans.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whatever I teach, and I can cook some mexican food as well!
