About Me

I'm Mexican-American born and raised in sunny Los Angeles. I was brought up in Los Angeles my entire life and for the past few years I've been exploring more of the world, mainly in Europe. Ive been to Europe many times now, visited many countries and I have yet to visit a country that I didn't love. Growing up, traveling was never a thing that I thought about as I was raised by immigrant parents from Mexico and they never talked about traveling or anything in relation to that. So for most of my life traveling was something foreign to me. There's so much of the world to see. I have seen and experienced more than I ever thought I could and I am grateful for every experience thus far. Traveling has really opened my eyes to how every country/place has there own way of doing things and customs and I really enjoy seeing things done a different way from what I'm accustomed to.

Back home I dedicate myself to Martial arts. I've taught both kids and adults in the past in both private and group settings and I can say I'm blessed to be able to do so at my age. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is my main focus and kickboxing/muay thai comes in second place. I've been training martial arts since the age of 16 and never looked back. I also work in the restaurant industry and have worked in kitchens and front of house for the past 6 years. I also dabble in a little bit of art, as well as hand-poked tattoos. Im also a huge fan of live music! I can say that I'm a rather calm, respectful, considerate person and I have great sense of humor.

Growing up in LA has definitely taught me to be accepting and respectful of all people. LA is such a melting pot of cultures and its amazing to have been raised in such a place and it has taught me to be able to get along with just anyone and for that I am forever grateful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people is always a great experience as well as being able to share experiences with one another. I find it fascinating to be able to learn about a different culture through the locals and people who have a desire to share those things. I want to learn as much as possible about the local culture and customs at the place of visiting.
I have used couchsurfing at least 5-10 times in the past through friends and visited so many places while using couchsurfing and it has been an amazing experience having met so many great people along the way.
This is by far the greatest platform for meeting people/traveling and I find it amazing.
I've used CS in Germany, Netherlands, Morocco, Louisiana, and so far its been a good experience when the host was available.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books right now definitely have to be books by Paulo Coelho. I have enjoyed each one of his books and I grow more and more fond of his writing with each one that I read.

As for movies, I am definitely a Comedy movie guy, but I've recently been really into Stephen Kings "IT" movies as I find them really entertaining and great.

The music genres I find myself enjoying most are definitely ones with a heavy jazz influence, I really enjoy funk, soul, R&B, jazz, psych/indie rock, thai funk, oldies, disco, post-punk, hiphop and some rap. Always open to listening to something new as well as sharing music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Earlier this year I, along with a few friends , took a road trip in Morocco from Fes to the Sahara desert and it was the most amazing trip ever.. I spent the night there under the beautiful desert sky full of stars, full of laughs, dancing, celebrating life around the fire and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything in the world..

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always willing to learn something new especially cultural customs. If we aren't learning something new then are we really living?? Always up for a good story, and always willing to share my favorite mexican dishes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some experiences, music, and I would love to share some cooking as well!
