About Me

Hello! I am Gerardo and I was born in USA and also raised in Puerto Rico. I attended university in Ohio where I studied European history and language and then lived in many different places quickly: Chicago, Denver, Austin, St Louis. finally settled on moving to New York and I haven't left yet!

I don't think I'll ever be done learning and I am always getting interested in something new. New York City is the perfect place to be drawn in a hundred different directions at once and to pursue lots of interests.

I can welcome any couchsurfer (1 guest) in need of a place to stay in New York City as long as I am not traveling. I am super grateful to CSers who have hosted me in the past and I am always amazed by the community's hospitality and all the interesting people. I play guitar, sing, and love all kinds of music, so at a minimum, I can share some of my favorite songs and artists at the moment. Then, hopefully you can share some of yours. The couch I can offer is very comfortable and in a private room (unless the cat decides to sleep with you). I also have an air mattress that can be used if the couch is not your thing. 1-3 night stays is what I am used to typically hosting. I do some random volunteer work occasionally and you are more than welcome to join if it interests you! Great way to meet real New Yorkers!

I want to travel and use CS as a means to connect with people, language, and daily life in the cities I visit. And I look forward to making new friends across the world and sharing my own home with fellow explorers visiting New York City (I live in Brooklyn)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, meeting new people, good conversation, and practicing languages. I know the majority of CSers share a love of life and adventure so I would like to offer my own couch to anyone who wants to explore the city of New York. I can provide recommendations, a towel, and we also have a friendly cat. New York is one of my favorite cities in America. And Brooklyn is really quite a special place in the Universe. I look forward to sharing my corner of Brooklyn with you!
