Overview
About Me
My full name is Gerardo Ontiveros Cortés. Currently I am 18 years old and study at The Autonomous University of Baja California. Yet to study a proper career, I am studying Chemical Sciences, longing to become a Pharmacobiologist Chemist and travel abroad with the purpose of investigating along with compeers from all over the globe. My family is composed of my mother, her boyfriend and my sister, all of them have a job, except for me. In the past, I've applied for a job as an interpreter. I was successful in getting the job but ultimately declined after finding out my school's schedule did not have synergy with the available shifts.
I am able to fluently speak english and currently am studying Swedish, because Sweden is one of the countries I am planning to go to. On other instances, I would love to master most nordic languages (these are Icelandic, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Faroese).
Pets are something I'm really fond of, my sister and I own six rabbits and two cats. While I myself own carnivorous plants as hobby.
Video games too, take much of my time, as well as going out with friends each weekend. I am a fan of FromSoftware's most successful franchises, Dark Souls and BloodBorne and of artisan beer with my friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Human aspects vary greatly in people from abroad. It is of deep interest to me to be able to witness them. I welcome being able to learn from people and at the same time I invite people to learn from me, for there are many, many human things to grasp from each and everyone of us; mainly the cultural exchange implicated.
Interests
I am profusely interested in interaction. Based on how deep this interaction becomes I can collect more and more knowledge. And so do you! Most ignore how great communication is to the mind.

Music, Movies, and Books
For the most part I have been listening to metal and its sub-genres. I'm by no means reluctant to listen to other music.
I honestly have poor criteria for good films and rarely do I read for amusement. I'd be always grateful to you for sharing your favourite things.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had a voyage by myself to Mexico City, in the hopes of meeting with my fellow brothers of the A.J.E.F. (an institution composed of bright youth, from across de country; sponsored by free-masonry, but parallel to said institution. It stands for "Asociación de Jóvenes Esperanza de la Fraternidad", Spanish for "Association of Youth Hope of the Fraternity"). After learning our methods, we went to the state of San Luis Potosí, in its homonymous capital, to the XXXlll National A.J.E.F. Congress. I had the honour of meeting my stalwart brothers and sisters hailing from various states of the country. Learning from each of them many small things was in fact an experience I truly will never forget. And I myself pompously exposed my thoughts, in hopes of enlightening everyone equally.
Teach, Learn, Share
Endlessly seeking to perfect myself, till the time of my death. I embarked into an infinite path towards absolute humanity. The more I continue, the less beast I become.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Feel free to be confident around me. Sometimes being nervous makes us sloppy and I am sure it happens to everyone, but accepting the fact that we people are characterised for committing mistakes will take us a step further into a deep, strongly-bonded relationship.
Okay, now it may become tedious to talk about subjective things, but understanding this, in essence, grants you my trust and affection. With this you may make yourself perfectly at home, whenever in need. I also may serve a guide to the several places there are in the city of Tijuana.
