About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I like exploring places, people, languages and history.

ABOUT ME

I'm studious and quiet, but I like a pint or dram as well. I lived in the UK and Germany, among other places.
PHILOSOPHY

I'm a traditional sort of guy. I've been in universities
or research institutes for most of my life. Most people are interesting and basically good and decent.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'll happily cook, or go to a restaurant or brew-pub.
I used to home-brew beer and need to get back to that.
I love discussing history and international events,
and like music of all types, both classical and at least
some pop. I'm not a fan of rap.

I like to meet people. They give meaning to life.

Interests

I like travelling, history and languages. I also like cooking. I'm into cycling, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and hiking/nature. I love exploring cathedrals and castles. I'm big into astronomy,
science fiction and especially Star Trek and Big Bang
Theory. Scouting.

Highlander, American Rhapsody plus fun movies like the Blues Brothers,
Ghostbusters, European/Family/Christmas Vacation etc.

Music: classical, some pop; not rap

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I flew on the Concorde once, to see the curvature of Earth.
I've applied to be an astronaut (but failed, like most).
I got a lot of good experiences being best man and being a godfather.
