Big passion for traveling, nature and people. Love to be around positive thinking and honest, pure people who are in for a good laugh en a good conversation from time to time. And a good meal ;) :D

PHILOSOPHY

Believing we're here for a reason. Whatever that reason may be, I believe we have the responsibility towards ourselves and others to make it worth living here. We screw up often... personally as well as globally. The things we go through in life and the obstacles along the way are there to educate us, to deal with things, to make the right decisions and make us better humanbeings. But hey....don't expect me to be perfect ok? :p

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First 'official' couchsurfing experience was in NYC and Philadelphia. Stayed at four different places. All the hosts were relaxed people, openminded and fun to be with!
Then I tried some couchsurfing in New Zealand and what a fine place that is and what a great host I had in Christchurch. Check out Tony! :D

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't read a lot (too restless) but once I have that one book that gets you hooked....reading can be addictive. I really enjoyed reading 'de kathedraal van de zee', 'Siddharta', 'Steppewolf', 'the Mists of Avalon' (fantasy) or autobiographies of people like....Nelson Mandela.
When it comes to music it could be anything between goa-trance and opera (not so much)! To name a few: Radiohead, Air, Saybia, Coldplay, Sigur Ros, Skin, Sixpence None the Richer, Jewel, Tycho, Elbow, Joni Mitchell, Morcheeba, Opeth, Beck, Andrea Bocelli, Mozart, Olive, Tom Waits, Hooverphonic, Porcupine Tree, Massive Attack, Ane Brun, Talvin Singh, Prodigy, Kosheen, Zubeida, Marillion, Worldmusic and so on and so on. Oh and of course my own band... hehe... oh well...Dear Ellinor!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the greatest things I have done in my life was swimming with a whaleshark in Australia. The size and shape of this creature (7 m) and at the same time the calmness of it is so incredible, the moment you see it, you feel at ease.
Another great experience was doing a Vipassana in New-Zealand. It definitely meant/means a lot to me (and so did NZ).
Travelling China is the most recent amazing thing, what an experience that was!!
