About Me

I am a 26 (almost 27) years old girl, born in a small town in south Bulgaria and living in Portugal for now 16 years. I love to cook, specially if it is for someone (however it will always be a vegetarian meal because I am a vegetarian 😜). I am not an athlete but I like sports (specially basketball!) and to feel I am in good shape. I like to have a coffee in the morning and I could spend an entire day laying in a sunny place reading a book. I love company and people that make me feel good, but I also love to be by myself sometimes. When I travel, I like to visit places that are not tourist-biased. It is kind an easy thing to make me laugh, and many times I have these attacks that I start laughing and it's like a snowball effect, I can't stop! It's a serious problem. Another problem I have is that I don't love technologies and I tend to run away from everything virtual (I say problem because sometimes it ends up making me lose track of many people, but at the same time it gives me a lot of peace so I think it's still worth it!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I moved to Portugal when I was 10 and people usually ask me how hard it was to adapt. But who said it was hard? I actually can't identify much moments that I have felt uncomfortable or lost. In fact, it was a phase of my life that I enjoyed so much, meeting new people, making new friends, learning their habits and costumes (that by the way were so different from mines!), absorbing a different language at an incredible speed... And then, years after, I realised why the change was so smooth. It was because I had the right people beside me. Maybe I was lucky, but the people I met were amazing and, without even knowing, helped me adapt and be part of this country that today I call mine. Couchsurfing is the opportunity to live again the beauty of that real culture exchange, and most importantly in this virtual world, to connect!

Music, Movies, and Books

It is hard for me to pick one single favorite thing of whatever. The best I can do is narrow the list down to a few.
I am definitely a books person. Love Haruki Murakami, love José Saramago, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Ken Follett, Eça de Quairós, Ian McEwan... so many. I think I love them all 🙆‍♀️
Movies I love, I would say Inception, Lion, Up, Pearl Harbor, and Argo.
My favorite bands/artists are Mumford and Sons, Alt-J, Coldplay, Muse, Twenty One Pilots, Jessy J, Lady Gaga, Yann Tiersen, Hans Zimmer, Ludovico Enaldi... and I'll stop here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have played basketball for many years and I love it! I can share everything I know about it! Also like languages, I speak 4 pretty decently but I want to learn more, so I'd love anyone willing to teach me something, and of course I can help with the ones I know.
I was a tour guide in Lisbon for about a year, and I am happy to share everything I know about the city!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll share both portuguese and bulgarian costumes, 2 in 1!
