Overview
About Me
We're a couple of (almost) 27, happily married for three years now. We studied in Amsterdam and after getting married moved to New York to live there for one year.
Currently, we're back in Amsterdam and we're both working in the fields we love. Rachelle is a fundraising consultant, helping out non-profit (cultural and charitable) organizations. Gerko is developing several projects on the edge of philosophy, secular culture, life meaning and the like.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Building on our expat life in New York, we love to meet new people and hear new stories. We're interested in many things ourselves and we love to share thoughts with new friends.
Interests
Rachelle loves basketball, hanging out with her friends and is up to unexpected adventures.
Gerko is a runner, plays drums (preferably jazz) and managed to somehow become a medieval philosophy geek (both Arabic and Latin history).

Music, Movies, and Books
Gerko loves jazz, as said. Rachelle doesn't. We're living in a small apartment, just imagine.
We're not particularly into either movies or fiction. We love watching documentaries and read the newspaper, but that's as far as it gets. Gerko reads quite a bit of philosophy and theology.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living in New York together!
Also, visiting Suriname (a South American country, where Rachelle her parents are from) and our trip to Israel is high on the list of 'amazing things we did'.
Teach, Learn, Share
Talk philosophy (Gerko) and normal stuff (both, luckily).
Anything you'd like to know about fundraising, Amsterdam, jazz, New York, (medieval) philosophy, etc.
