Hi! I'm Gerlinda from the Netherlands. I'm an open-minded, positive, enthusiastic, creative, social, active and adventureous person.
I'm in love with life! I am a teacher and trainer back home, but I learn more outside in the world than in the classroom. So everytime I get an opportunity to travel and learn from the world, I go. I love traveling, explore the world, meet other people, share ideas, cultures and I'll in to be good to other people and the world around me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not much couchsurfing experience, but I heard good storys about it. I love to meet new people and i'm very interrested in different people, stories and cultures. I love the philosophy of couchsurfing and I like to try it!

OUTDOORS & SAILING
I love sailing and being on, in, and around the water. I love to go outdoors, back to the basics and enjoy the incredible beauty of nature. Camping, building bivoucs, campfires, climbing trees or walls, biking, and more.
I like the challenges in outdoor, but also to reconnect with myself, the other, and the environment. I love different outdoorenvironments: mountains, sea, beaches, deserts, forests, and more....

CULTURE/ARTS/CREATIVE EXPRESSION
I love salsa-dancing. And I want to learn more dance styles. I really like moving and dancing in general.
I also love music. Listening to music or playing music :) I like a lot of styles, depending on my mood.
I like creative things. From time to time I love to visit musea's, shows, musical, movies, but I do this more often while traveling than back home.

TRAVEL/LEARN/SHARE/CONTRIBUTE
I love traveling, meet people and explore and learn from different cultures. I'm always in for trying out new things and learning something new.

I'm passionate for making the world a better place. So I do my best to live sustainable, buy fair-trade, get involved in projects that makes a social impact, to be friendly to other people, to make a change in the world.
I also like to do voluntary work for Edukans (an international development organisation with a focus on: education for all) and I'm engaged as a volunteer in an outdoororganization that uses outdoors as a tool to improve teamcooperation within groups. I'm very willing to contribute somehow during my travels on projects that work on justice, social work, education, nature, human rights, etc.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I love traveling and meeting new cultures, new people, nature, culture and try out new things.
I have done a lot of amazing things. Everytime I travel I find something amazing.
'Amazing' is in the eye of the beholder.
But here are some things that I found amazing for myself:

- Educational experience to India (fundraising for educational projects there, teach in different culture, meet Indian teachers)
- Educational trip to Malawi as staff.
-Go to Israel to meet the Israeli and Palestinian people and see the conflict through human eyes. Make a theatre play about it to raise awareness in the Netherlands.
- Sailing counselor in summercamps in Maine/USA
- 3 weeks of hiking/backpacking in the Rocky Mountains
- Become a travelguide. Went 2 times to Rwanda with a group of youngsters
- Nature Quest in Sahara desert: 40 hours by myself under a tarp and a incredible sky full of stars
- Diving in Egypt
- Camelriding in Morocco and Egypt
- Climbing vulcano in the Azores
- Driving with a car on the ice of Baikal lake in Russia
- Sleeping outside with -15 in Lapland/Finland
- Siberia adventure in the winter: transsiberia-express, visit many places, snowboarding, iceskating, ...
- Walking the Chinese wall
- Climbing Mount Sinai
- Chilling in the death sea
- Sailing, lot's of sailing. I always love it.
- Hiking from hut to hut in Austria/Switserland
- Started with couchsurfing.
