Hi everyone!

Im from Colombia and I currently live in Rio de Janeiro. Im in Brazil because Im doing a Masters degree in Zoology at the National Museum (The museum that unfortunately caught fire). My research focuses on the diversity of wild bees (Did you know there are about 16,000 species of bees? and most occur in Brazil).

Thanks to my profession, I have had the possibility to travel and know many places, doing field work, visiting museums and collections and attending scientific events. I like photography (some photos here: insta @germanvc91), nature, culture and history.

Besides that, I love animals (I have a pit bull daughter), soccer, skateboarding and powerlifting.

Sou da Colômbia e atualmente moro no Rio de Janeiro. Estou no Brasil porque estou fazendo um mestrado em Zoologia no Museu Nacional (O museu que infelizmente pegou fogo). Minha pesquisa está focada na diversidade de abelhas silvestres (Você sabia que existem cerca de 16.000 especies de abelhas? e a maioria ocorrem no Brasil).

Graças à minha profissão, tive a possibilidade de viajar e conhecer muitos lugares, fazendo trabalho de campo, visitando museus e coleções e participando de eventos científicos. Gosto da fotografia (algumas fotos aqui: insta @germanvc91), natureza, cultura e historia.

Além disso, gosto muito dos animais (tenho uma filha pitbull), futebol, skate e powerlifting (levantamento de peso).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always believed that being a simple and humble person opens many doors. I am a person who enjoys the moments and saves the landscapes in mental photographs. I prefer a bike ride, a mountain climb, camping or a sunset at the beach than a five star hotel.
