About Me

My Facebook Profile: https://www.facebook.com/germangarciafr

I'm a student of Business Administration and Sociology. I know, it's a bit weird combination. Passionate about life, travel, airplanes.

Life for me is summed up in every new thing you can learn day by day, because that you learn helps you to grow as a person and as a human being. I think that in order to live we have to fly, we have to travel, we have to leave the comfort zone and enter the wonderful world that we have.

PHILOSOPHY

We have to travel as far as we can, always loving our home, our country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I mentioned before, I am new to the platform, I decided to be part of this community by the advice of my friends who have traveled around the world doing couchsurfing and I simply think it is the best way to know a city, a culture, a country. There is no one better than a local who can offer guidance on what to do and where to go, although it does not necessarily have to be a local, because if anything I have clear is that I can meet people from all over the world living in cities that are not Theirs, and this seems even more incredible.

Music, Movies, and Books

I actually don't have a favorite genre of music, I enjoy it (almost) all!

I love electronic music, mostly techno and tech-house/house and much more!

Regarding movies, wow, I could talk all day!!

If I had to choose my top 5 I would have to say (not in any particular order): The Usual Suspects, Shawshank Redemption, Catch Me If You Can, Forest Gump and The Skin I Live In.

Lastly books! Ahh, reading for pleasure, something I enjoy (and miss) so much!

Having to read tons for school makes you forget how enjoyable reading is. If I had to choose my favorite book I would have to say The Kite Runner together with A thousand Splendid Suns, both by Khaled Hosseini.

In addition I enjoy reading books from Dan Brown, James Patterson, John Grisham and Stephen King, and some Latin-American writers such as Jorge Luis Borges, Cortázar, Carlos Fuentes and Gabriel García Márquez.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Something incredible that I have done is to fly a plane, for me it was incredible because in the first place, I feel immense love for those and secondly because it gave me the sensation of having the world at my feet, and if I literally had the world To my feet. An airplane not only makes you fly, an airplane allows you to dream and make those dreams come true.

The plane was small, but in the end it was an airplane, and I think if I had the ability to control it, I have the same capacity to control my life and direct it towards what I want to be as a person.

Another incredible thing that has done is to be in one of the poorest places of Bolivia. I was in a small town in the south of the country about two weeks, accompanying and helping in the improvement work for these people. It is very sad to see how the government has completely abandoned these.

That experience helped me to open my eyes and realize how lucky I am and give thanks for everything I have, but at the same time I felt a lot of impotence to see how many people do not have to survive, be there with them and live like They helped me to grow as a person, and that's why I try to travel as much as I can, to know and rediscover the world, because I know that everything can not be so bad.
