Artur Stopyra Ph.D. – professor of German Studies, with an over 15-year-long experience in teaching the German language and broad academic interests, music teacher, journalist (foreign correspondent of the newspaper from Canada, accredited with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland). In 2007 – Ph.D. in the field of Modern German Literary History and German Culture in the Institute of German Studies of the Warsaw University. Main work focuses: Liechtenstein (literature, culture, history), intercultural German Studies, contrastive linguistics, dialectology of German and German teen slang. Member of the Association for intercultural German Studies (GiG), the Association of German Language (VDS), the Polish German Teacher's Association (PDV), the International Union for German Studies (IVG) and the Association of the Foreign Correspondents in Poland. Participation (with presentation) in many academic conferences and international congresses in Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Finland, Poland, Italy, Turkey), Asia (India, Japan, Taiwan, Israel, Thailand), and Africa (Algeria, Burkina Faso). His dissertation titled “Liechtenstein Literature and Culture” (540 pages), the world's first study on literature and culture of the smallest German-speaking country, has been singled out as “one of the most interesting achievements of Polish-German Studies” and “a broad interdisciplinary survey study on the Principality of Liechtenstein.” His scientific publications and various articles were published in 30 countries on five continents. From 1997: German teacher at the German Language Centre DACHL in Warsaw (www.dachl.pl) and author of the intercultural project „Following the traces of German around the globe“. Within the scope of this project the students of the German Language Centre DACHL visited the following countries: Germany, Liechtenstein, India, Nepal, Australia, New Zealand, Vanuatu, Dubai, Switzerland, Sweden, Hong Kong, Philippines, Kenya and Colombia.
