About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover Brasil and its people !!! (January - March 2012)

ABOUT ME

I like to learn more about the geography and the people of the country I am travelling around. In Germany I make my living with selling books (in the summertime), in the wintertime I have enough time to make extended travels. I live in a rural area called Sauerland and I am also researching the emigrants from this area, who mostly left towards the USA in the 19th century. On my current trip to Brasil, I am most interested to meet some German-stock Brasilians in the South, and to learn about the history of their settlements!

PHILOSOPHY

Here and now! It sounds so simple, yet it ain´t easy for a western civilized academic mind full of ideas...

"Sidartha" from Hermann Hesse is one of those cool books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

swam with a free dolphin in Nuweiba, Egypt
walked and slept in the desert for several days all by myself in Marokko
saw the pyramids near Kairo
risked my life canyoning all alone in Marokko

Teach, Learn, Share

I can drum and will teach you some grooves on one of my drums (Djembe, Tarbuka, Handdrum). I can tell you something about Roman and German History, and especially about the emigration from rural Germany to the US in the 19th Century. I am interested in antique philosophy. I like to learn languages.
