Complete building up my profile so people know who I am.
ABOUT ME
I was born and brought up in Beijing. I traveled with my parents and with my high school around China a lot before I was 18. After high school, I felt a burning need to see what’s going on outside of the Chinese speaking world. So I worked on my English in a “boot camp” style English school for a year and passed IELTS and went to a Canadian university for my post secondary education. After finishing two BA degrees in Canada, I realized that I had culturally become more Canadian than Chinese, so I started to work and travel and socialize here. Now, it’s been more than a decade since I moved to Canada. I have to say that it is the best decision I have ever made for my life. Now, seeing the whole world and meeting world’s interesting people are my goals of life.
PHILOSOPHY
Since I moved from China to Canada, I have gradually learned that I need to reach my childhood dream with the limited time I have. There is no more excuse like money and time, I want to make it happen before it is too late to do so. That dream is to travel around the world. Now I have been to quite a few countries, but it is far from my goal. The journey continues...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted a dozens of surfers already. Currently, I don't have room for visitors until I get my new place. However, I am still open to have coffee or tea. I like to meet people from all cultures and exchange ideas. I am very open minded and welcoming.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have met many surfers and hosts. Everyone shares something in common with me. I learn and share with everyone as well. This is one of the best clubs I have joined.
Interests
I have a strong passion in travelling and learning languages of course. In addition to that, I grew up singing, and playing the accordance. I am currently taking ballroom dancing lessons and that takes more than half of my spare time lately. I also love going hiking on the Vancouver Grouse Mountain. Other time, I spend on going to concerts, theatres, museums, art galleries and libraries. A new hobby I developed recently is to collect small home artisan handiworks from different countries I have been to.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all sorts of music and museums. These are the two must-do things in every city I travel to. I always check out their best museums for the fundamental knowledge about this city. Then, I always spend a night or so to watch a local show. In some cities that are famous for their dancing, there would be no way I can miss it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While travelling in Mexico City last year, I picked up Salsa dancing from some very hot Mexican men, without speaking any Spanish.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach Chinese as a foreign language. My specialty includes language related works, music, singing, dancing and acting. These are also the areas where I have long term passion in. I would also like to try anything that I have not done before. If you are good at something that I haven't tried, I hope you don't mind teaching me.
