i moved to Vancouver Island North in 2017, from Vancouver where I immigrated in 1993. I grew up in Nairobi, Kenya, and studied in England and Scotland. I worked in sustainable energy engineering and started a career in sustainable forestry.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I can not host currently, but I like to meet locals and travelers interested in outdoor activities: Surfing, Paddleboarding, kayaking, river rafting, hiking, skiing.

At one with Nature: Surfing Hawaii and British Columbia; Snorkeling Kisite Marine Park in Kenya; Diving the continental shelf in Belize; Hiking liquid lava on Hawaii, and on Mt Kenya and Mt Kilimanjaro.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can host day trips with a double kayak, canoe, and car, Saturdays (sometimes Sundays), and occasionally I can get away for a weekend camping trip .

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm free for Saturdays and Sunday mornings in Vancouver hiking/skiing, swimming in the sea, or kayaking.
I love to share my extensive collection of maps and books and help travelers plan exploration of British Columbia.
