About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Becoming the next Kanye West, except without the Taylor Swift thing
ABOUT ME
I was born in Buffalo NY and grew up mostly in North Carolina, in Chapel Hill. I also lived in Connecticut for a while. I went to college in St. Louis, I majored in physics and minored in Jazz Studies. I've been tutoring kids for over four years, and I started my own tutoring company in January of 2010. I hired tutors who can work with middle school, high school, and college students, advertised their services, lined up clients with tutors, and handled all of the business.
In January of 2011 I moved to Chicago. I like living in a big city with a ton of stuff to do, even though the city and the cold weather stresses me out sometimes. I spend as much time as I can in the grass when it's nice out.
I sold the tutoring company in the summer of 2011 because I want to be a musician and music producer, and I wanted to work on that more. So now I still tutor kids to make a living, and I work on various musical endeavors. You can hear my music on my website at www.gregbeats.com, until I think of a name for my website that's actually good.

Music, Movies, and Books
You can see all the music I've listened to since my senior year of high school on my last.fm, at http://www.last.fm/user/yosemitesam. I recommend looking at my top artists in the last 6 months for a sense of what I'm into now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgVXBhIIPLc
Shot near Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
I stepped off the ledge and free fell 174 feet in 3.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 70 miles an hour. Then, still over a hundred feet above the ground, I swung back and forth through the gorge like a pendulum. After a minute or so, they slowly lowered me to the ground.
(Also I'm afraid of heights. I haven't ridden a roller coaster since I was like 5.)
Teach, Learn, Share
Pretty much anything music- or audio-related--writing, recording, mixing, synths, sound effects, playing piano, whatever. Marketing and sales. Physics and math (I tutor them). I'm a pretty good writer.
