About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being in the same place and same time as my girlfriend.

ABOUT ME

I am a freelance charlatan and snake oil salesman. I like adventures that include, but not limited to: Hiking, cycling, driving, SCUBA, and camping in the rough.

PHILOSOPHY

Taste the Adventure! I'm just glad I can see and walk. (I've suffered a catastrophic knee injury in 2009, which was like a "Phoenix Treatment" effectively killing me and starting my new life) I have no worries and everything that is good is just spice for my life. TASTE THE ADVENTURE!!!!! (RRRAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am thinking to make my couch available to the right guests and also to show them around my great city of vancouver!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent 1 night on a couch in Livingston Montana, but not as part of CS. I have also hosted 2 people on my couch, also not as part of CS. Both experiences were great so I am opening up to the wide world of CS! Current Couchsurfing stats at a glance: Updated October 3 2012 Surfers Hosted: 56 Couches Surfed: 12 Pizzas Eaten*: 22 (+1 sushi pizza in Key Largo!)Times I've Camped out in the Jalopy: 11 Red Bulls: 35*[Pizzas Eaten: is the total number of pizzas I've partaken in with other couchsurfers, not pizzas I've personally consumed!]

Kubrick films, Coen Bros. films, Documentaries about manned spaceflight. Science books, yes, and I do happen to like music too. Baroque, Classical, Classic Rock or nothing at all, silence has a unique sweetness....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Mt. Doom! (Mt. Ngauruhoe in N.Z.)
Swam with sharks and turtles in Australia AND Malaysia
Swam with dolphins (N.Z.)
Staying up all "night" while camping in midsummer in the Yukon.
Played volleyball on 3 continents.
Climbed Mt. St. Helens
Swam with humpback whales (Maui)

Teach, Learn, Share

Amazing Multi-purpose avocado dip.

1 or 2 avocadoes, ripe. 20-30ml olive oil, 10-20ml balsamic vinegar, 1 clove garlic, juice from 1/2 lemon or lime. Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Toss it into your green salads.

Options:
Mix avocado dip with equal portions of sour cream and salsa for 1 stop nacho dipping.

Spread on toast with alfalfa.

Remember to store with a layer of plastic film to prevent browning, not that the stuff will last that long!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Excellent vegetarian cuisine (I was vegan for 5 years). I make superior salads. I also bake a mean cheesecake.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Poland, Scotland, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States
