About Me

I am a Physics student in Spain. Next year I will be studying in Germany. I know everyone says they love traveling, but I really do. Every time I have time and enough money, I take my backpack and go somwhere. For example, I use to spend my summers working in the US.
I also love sports, especially basketball and chess (yes, chess is considered as a sport), and books, althought I have lately been reading about maths and science instead of novels, which I generally prefer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

From some time ago I am suffering from the really high price of hotels when I travel. I also use to discover places according to what tourist guides say.
I would like to try new ways of experiencing the cities I visit meeting locals that can tell me tips or show me around, at the same time I save a little money.
I currently live in my parent's, but I am sure that when I have house of my own I will become a host.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like many diverse kinds of music, such as jazz, dubstep, classic, electro, etc., but my favourites genres are hardstyle and rock. I know these types are not as common as others, so I'm used to stand whatever people like too.
Relating to books, I like adventures, fantasy and mistery novels, although I read a lot about maths and science. I love Agatha Christie and J.R.R. Tolkien.
And finally about films... well, I like those intelligent ones that make me think, but often adventures and comedies are okay to while the time away.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I had a day-off in my last job in USA (in a summer camp) I went hiking in the Adirondacks. I took a taxi to the mountains, which cost me so much money I didn't have any left. I decided not to worry about my way back to the camp, and I spent all the day enjoying nature. I hiked three of the High Peaks (about 30 miles), and I didn't hike more because I wanted to be at the camping site at the beginning of my route so I could get a ride back to my job place by any of the campers that were leaving that afternoon. I was exhausted, anyway. I finally found an old man that agreed to take me to a town that is about 20 miles to my job place. I started walking from there by the side of the road, surrounded by trees and forests, trying to hitchhike. I encountered a really weird young guy driving and old car in the opposite direction with a truly ugly dog in the front seat. He invited me to get in his car and drive me some miles closer to my destination. When I did it I notice that it smelled of tobacco so bad, and that there were child clothes and toys on the backseats. The first thing I thought was that he was a pederast, but I really needed that ride. He later told me that he had four childern and he lived in a farm. Then I relaxed and concluded that he was probably the tipical guy that gets his girlfriend pregnant during highschool and gets married with her soon afterwards. He drop me off about 10 miles away from my camp and I had to finally walk that distance. It was already night. By that time I had blisters on my feet and cramps all over my body. I really struggled. When I was midway of those 10 miles, I passed next to a property and a really annoying dog which took very seriously protecting its home started chasing me by the road, barking and scaring me. It went after me like a mile, and a car almost hit it. I finally arrived in my camp at 12 am, one hour before my limit. I walked 40 miles and was literally lifeless.
