CURRENT MISSION
To be more mindful and continue to push my limits
ABOUT ME
I'm a clean kid who doesn't want to be clean-cut. I'm a political avenger at heart and a music lover most of the time. I enjoy travel, hiking, books, movies, people, and good conversation (and food, mmmm). I'm a musician (singer/beatboxer) and I really just love meeting new people in new places. I completed a RTW trip in 2012 and couchsurfed in 5 of the 8 countries I visited!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By sharing the love ;) Honestly, I think there’s always a new way to participate and as my life changes I dip back in and out of the community, always having unique and memorable experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I stayed with and met up with several couchsurfers while traveling on a RTW trip. It was amazing!!
I have hosted a couple of CSers while living in Portland, and I try to go to a meetup when I can. I am so inspired by couchsurfers I meet.
Interests
I’m a musician by nature but spend my days trying to improve health & human services. I worked in homeless services in NYC for 6 years before moving to Austin, TX, in 2019 with my wife.
I’m a huge fan of live music and art in all mediums. I also enjoy hiking, camping, and exploring new places.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - funk, soul, blues, rock, you name it. Some favorite groups: Mofro, Galactic, Beatles, Bob Dylan, Lake Street Dive, Lettuce, Soulive, Ocote Soul Sounds, Grupo Fantasmo, Sharon Jones, everything on Daptone Records, Forro in the Dark...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once lifted the Empire State Building with my left hand.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am basically addicted to music and love to share in musical experiences. I can teach you to beatbox. I am also a bit of a computer nerd, so I am always of help there, and I'm basically a jack-of-all-trades.
I'd like to learn French as well as general randomness like fixing bikes or building raised garden beds.
