ABOUT ME

We were in China for a year June 09-10 but have returned to the states to spend time with our 4 grand-children, and to welcome the arrival of Amalie, Frey and Ava. If interested I can certainly tell you more about 4 of the cutest kids I've seen. We have now moved to Lynnwood Wa. just north of Seattle. We would be happy to welcome old friends and new.
I went to Bangkok at the beginning of 07 to the Int'l Hospital for a thorough examination (and I do mean thorough). For a few thousand dollars they told me I have a thyroid that doesn't work, and no, we won't cut that gut off, go home and quit eating, which I did by the way. I have been Steve's brother, Greta's husband or Rob, Joel, Taylor, Rosie, Kristine or Lisi's Dad but never just me. People say they put up w/ me just to be with my wife & kids. No, I dont have any complexes only complexities. My wife Is very sweet though it is true. I have spent quite a lot of time traveling to places like Russia, China, Mexico and Europe. I tell people I'm good looking but that usually only works on the phone. Dry sense of humor, if there is any sense to it. I got to do all 4 of our older kids weddings. I asked God for grand kids. We now have 6 1/2, the 1/2 is still in the oven in Hawaii. The 2 younger daughters (13 & 16 now) were adopted at birth (you've heard of the empty nest syndrome? it's real. The wife and daughter had it. The daughter that was suppose to help out moved out shortly after we got the first one. She did get married though eventually and is providing the first grandchild/daughter sept of 07. (I'll let it go I guess). We have 2 Chinese daughter-in-laws also which I could not be more proud of. I wanted to adopt 2 chinese girls for yrs, I had no idea how that was going to work out. You must be a real glutton for punishment if you got this far in my rambling. Thanks for listening.

PHILOSOPHY

There is no such thing as a Stranger.
I love life stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

open to visitors
always planning a couple trips

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've actually done a lot of couchsurfing but it was not thru this organization, I just found out about this thing last Summer of 07. anyway, I have surfed quite a few couches worldwide and have found people really like being hospitable. I really enjoyed visiting people who were teaching English in China.

Interests

I took up Painting a few years ago in Hawaii.
I love grace. I play the djembe for fun. Love to travel whenever possible. Tend to like to watch birds and Butterflies. I try to watch as many Movies as I can just to keep up with the culture in the States. Photography is enjoyable, I wish I understood cameras better though. I even took a class in college to figure them out, I'm afraid it didn't happen.

Music, Movies, and Books

Princess Bride is my all time favorite, should say it all.
Anything Brennan Manning writes. I like most music, favorites would have to be Mercy music anything w/ congas, smooth Jazz & World Music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw my first daughter born Caesarean. Kinda gross but it was as happy a moment as I can remember. That really is amazing they cut you in half and you live.
Hope that's not too graphic.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to paint. I can't even draw a stick man but I can paint one.

What I Can Share with Hosts

World traveling stories, mostly true.
