About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world and assist others in doing the same!

ABOUT ME

I came to Austin in 2005 for UT, and like so many others have become ensnared by its charm. I am from England originally, and the US is my fifth country. My parents currently reside in Cape Town, South Africa, and I have been very fortunate to visit them a number of times.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is good, and should be lived as such. It is through sharing our happiness with others that we make this world a better place.

Rules are for the obedience of fools, and the guidance of wise men.

In the words of an Italian waiter and coffee shop owner in Amsterdam -
There are two things I can think of that we can all do to change the world:
1. Be nicer to others
2. Plant trees
I would like to add a third: Couch surf!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host, I surf, and I tell the world one person at a time. Your contribution to the global couch surfing network starts with the next conversation about your experience with this amazing community, so join the revolution!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a semi permanent couch surfer for three months, and I stayed in Budapest and Vienna while traveling through Europe. I had amazing experiences in both places! My hosts were so welcoming and friendly, and made sure that myself and my fellow traveling buddies felt right at home. I have also hosted some amazing folks, and will hopefully host many more.

I have hosted a couple of cool cats, and I look forward to meeting more of you guys!

Interests

Squash, frisbee golf, penguins, people with accents, Super Smash Bros. Melee...

Music, Movies, and Books

So many... Quite into dub-step, live music in general, which is quote fortuitous since I live in the live music capital of the world :-) The Robot Series, The Master and Margarita, 100 Years of Solitude, Lonesome Dove, so many more... Gladiator, Fight Club, Inception, The Matrix, The Road to Perdition, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Battle Star Galactica. I also play lots of board games

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being 6 inches away from a great white shark, underwater, while cage diving in Cape Town.

Teach, Learn, Share

There are two questions that I make a point of asking any interesting person that I come across:

1. Favorite book
2. Favorite recipe

Share the wealth of experience, knowledge and good food with your next host/surfer!
