About Me

Hey Couchsurfing community!

I’m an Australian artist and musician.
I have a teen son who traveled with me for a year, and is now back in Australia.

I run a small business in Australia which offers a small range of Artwork products from my own art; tote bags, cushions etc. Whilst traveling , I’m looking forward to doing digital artworks to expand this line. I also plan to work on writing and illustrating a children’s book! I’m currently using watercolor (so don’t worry, no mess! Lol)

I’m a pretty quiet living person. I love reading, cooking, TV & Movies/Cinema, I like exploring places, and visiting unique cafes & restaurants. I love seeing historical buildings and architecture, art galleries etc. Experiencing different cultures is wonderful. I’m learning Spanish.
I also love nature and animals, and hope to see many creatures and landscapes that we don’t have in Australia.

Music is also a huge passion for me; I’m a singer, songwriter, and am learning keyboard/piano. I really love singing for church, and also enjoy many other different genres and styles, I have very eclectic taste.

Our adventure has sadly been radically changed; first by Covid, and then by some health issues for me. I’m now awaiting surgery. So I’m living a quiet life, keeping as active as possible, house sitting some wonderful places and pets, and renting in between. Couch surfing I’m hoping will be a lovely way to meet new people, and experience some of a location, in between house sits.

Couchsurfing is a new adventure, but I have done lots of house sitting, and can provide excellent references from them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the concept of CouchSurfing as a way to not only see this amazing world, but to be able to really connect with locals and experience the community wherever I go.
What a wonderful way to meet interesting people of different nations and cultures, and be immersed in the real nature of a Country!
I also love the opportunity for a local to give us tips and advice, and hopefully make traveling a safer experience too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh where do I start?! Too many to list that’s for sure! Lol
Music; a very wide range with everything from Golden Oldies like The Seekers, Simon & Garfunkle, James Taylor, to Contemporary artists like Ed Sheeran & Norah Jones. Many different genres; Worship, Classical, Blues, some Pop, Folk, ...Way too many artists to list...I could happily sit and explore different music the entire day!

Movies; I love adventure/sci fi/fantasy type movies like Indiana Jones, Star Wars, loooove Marvel! Also some action films, especially if funny too. Love comedies, and I’m a fan of romantic comedies

Books:
Me: faves: Jan Karon, Lori Wick, Janette Oak, Gilbert Morris....and love reading the Bible too.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share your culture and knowledge of your local area and Country. I love eating foods from all different countries, and experiencing how others live and do community.

I teach Visual Art, beginners guitar, and can guide with singing tips. I was also a Ballroom Dance instructor. I can share tips for starting/running a small business, social media etc. I can cook pretty well, it’d be nice to exchange recipes.
I’m learning Spanish and Piano, and any tips for children’s writing would be awesome! I’d also love to go sailing!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with hosts my art and music skills, cooking, seeing local places together, great conversations, experiences and our relaxed and friendly Aussie spirit.
