About Me

Alo!

My name is Gia, I'm 25 and currently on an extended travel trip throughout Europe. In November 2016 I flew to Berlin and have been exploring Germany, Portugal and England since then.

I'm happy to say that the trip has really opened my eyes to the beauty of people throughout the world and my biggest hope is to continue to spread the good vibes.

I enjoy chatting and swapping experiences, stories and ideas but I also need time to myself and enjoy exploring new places solo.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm still very new to Couchsurfing so my opinion of how to use this great tool is constantly changing and expanding. Below I've provided updates on my thoughts and feelings about why I'm on Couchsurfing:

6/1/2017
To be a positive force in the sharing economy.

13/1/2017
At first I thought Couchsurfing was a great way to travel on a budget, respectfully, but now I realize it is so much more. I'm happy and excited to meet new people from around the world but I also think the goodness of sharing resources is the foundation of why Couchsurfing is great, everything else is extra.

This is not to say that one should blindly use the kindness of other people to their advantage without giving anything back; but offering a free, safe place to crash should not mean that the Surfer is obligated to be anything more than thankful, respectful and an active participant in providing a positive experience for their Host.
