I discovered Couchsurfing during a bicycle tour around Europe a few years ago. Being an airbnber, both as a guest and as a host, I wasn't new to the "sharing economy" magic of meeting new people and create bonds but Couchsurfing really takes it to the next level, and yes it's because of the gratuity which makes it clear that the driver is nothing else than people and pure generosity, which is much more than trust, is the fuel of this stunning platform!
