ABOUT ME

It's not easy to self-describe in few lines...What can I say? I was born and grew up in Vicenza, a town of Veneto in the north-east of Italy. I was 16, losing time on the computer doing benchmark of my video card with a software. It involved a demo video with a 3d image of the earth seen from the space. In that moment I felt an emotion so strong that I never forgot, and that took me to get a degree in aerospace engineering. At the end I understood it was not what I wanted. So I tried to do something concerning my big passion of music, other source of emotions, so I became a Sound Engineer, but nowadays I found that it's a job that it's dying (like beautiful music...). So my "madness" took me to start again and I choose something really multi-disciplinar, getting a degree in Urban Planning in Florence... and by now it was the last :P
I moved to Albania where I started to work for a construction company in Tirana, and after 2 years I came back to Italy with a little advance in professional experience but with a wife :)
Now, after some years in Padova as a commercial agent for medical products, I started to work as employee for them, I divorced from my ex-wife and moved back to my hometown Vicenza.

I love music, I play guitar, bass and a little of piano.
I love to eat, drink, cook (I'm improving in it day after day) and discover local food, local dishes...
I love to travel, to discover new and different cultures, but sometimes I'm really lazy at home...
I deeply love cats, and a lot of other animals too (often more than the love I feel for humanity in many of its bad aspects...)
About myself I've understood that I have a really rational brain always trying to control and fighting with my really emotional heart... Now I'm working to find a better balance between the two and let my irrational part come out without destroying the world ;)

Well, of course to know someone you have to spend time with him, so let's meet, it's better :D

I try to partecipate to the meetings nearby, I usually know wonderful people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted almost 100 people in these years I've lived in Florence, Vicenza, Empoli, Tirana and Padova.
In the meanwhile I've surfed about 30 times.
I have been in several meetings, where I've known people from all over our little globe!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: it's an important part of my life, a way to feel and to express feelings... I tried to live with it, but with bad result :(
I love Rock, Heavy Metal (mainly Prog, Classic, Folk, Power), Jazz, Prog, Hard Rock, Classical, Blues and some kind of punk/hardcore (yeah, teenage years still in my heart)
The artists I love more are: Jimi Hendrix, Iron Maiden, Rita Marcotulli, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Sigur Ros, Pearl Jam, Dream Theater, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, then many others... always open to listening new stuff, never cristalize!

Books: my two most favourite writers are with no doubt Stefano Benni and Ryszard Kapuscinski, now I'm discovering Dostojevski, Jorge Amado, Daniel Pennac and then I try to read a lot of other stuff... suggest me something!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling in Namibia I've seen above my head some vultures flying in circle over a carcass next to me. That was pretty amazing, gave me a strong emotion I've never forgotten.

Paragliding for the first time of my life in Hymalaya, near Manali (India), taking the decision to do it in half a second after having seen a flyer and climbing up the mountains by feet... Amazing

Contributing with my aerospace engineering degree thesis to BepiColombo mission (that is now floating though space directed to Mercury)
