ABOUT ME

I hail from a tiny town in the mountains of New Mexico; alas! the cultural abyss that divides the southwestern United States from the rest of the world drove me away to foreign and far away lands.
I most recently embarked on a great adventure to join the Antipodeans in the nether regions of the great Pacific Ocean to experience life in another hemisphere.
I have now returned to the northern way of life, and am currently settled in England.

PHILOSOPHY

Ooh, that's a tough one...I would have to say, though, that every new day I find new meaning in my life and some reason to keep on living. Enlightenment is what I strive for.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My best friend Ivy and I have hosted millions of wonderful couchsurfers and have stayed on one couch...but I am ready and excited to do much more surfing in the near future!

Interests

Fooood!, bikes!!, pianos, nutrition and health, english literature, grammar, linguistics, kittens, kites, kitchens, captains, captions, alliterations, neo-luddism, buildings, people, brains, water (but not being in it), creating works of art, and trying new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am quite obsessed with Chopin and the romantic/impressionist era of music...music in general, really. Other than that, I've been listening to a lot of minimalist music right now: Hauschka, John Cage, Philip Glass and the like. I also enjoy Grizzly Bear/Department of Eagles, Charles Mingus, Modest Mouse, Thom Yorke, Animal Collective, and I've just been introduced to Yeasayer.
Books: I find that I tend to have a very abstract thought process and so I quite enjoy artistic works of fiction. James Joyce is my main squeeze right now; currently, I am working up to reading Ulysses.
