À propos de moi
ABOUT ME
Easy going and all those other qualities everyone puts on their profile. 'Enjoy a good laugh'. 'Love learning new things'. 'Need continuous supply of oxygen to live'. All that stuff.
Aswell as very much enjoying meeting people, we also appreciate anything efficient. So Couchsurfing - which helps you come into contact with lots and lots of amazing people in a very efficient way - is the best thing which exists, see?
Not really sure what else to put in here; it's a bit too open-ended. What I'm going to do now is put some words in some of the other boxes, and hope that the words I've already put in here start to propagate or some such.
PHILOSOPHY
“Nothing so liberalizes a man and expands the kindly instincts that nature put in him as travel and contact with many kind of people”, Mark Twain
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We hosted many many amazing people in Glasgow, over the period of a couple of years. Enjoyed the company of everyone who came to stay, drank some fantastic tea alongside some satisfyingly cheap beer, and learned a huge amount. Not just info about the places the surfers were from, or recommendations of books and music, but also discovering other networks, and entirely different ways of living.
Living circumstances changed so haven't hosted too many people recently. Eager to get back into it. About to do heaps of travelling, and looking forward to meeting up with some of the people who stayed with us.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted in various flats in Glasgow and surfed in the UK and the Far East. Particularly peculiar/delightful experiences include surfing in a warehouse full of circus performers in London and delivering a bag of Twiglets to a fellow Scot with a very specific hankering in Mongolia.
Centres d'intérêt
Community organising, visualisations of meaningless data, poems, doing really good impersonations of actual adults, Scottish things like indie music and talentless footballers, peanut butter, volunteering & activism & that kinda stuff, reading aloud, reading to oneself, the statistics of Hans Rosling, the inventions of Charles Babbage, the complaints of George Costanza, twitter, travelling, staying at home, The Bugle, bicycling, Earth (and other planets aswell).
